Gen Tomuro
Born in Tokyo in 1989, moved to San Francisco at 6 and later to Boston. Received a Gold Medal at the Kanto Solo Competition in 2001 and was invited to play at the Boston Japan Society 100th Anniversary in 2005. Graduated with Highest Honors from the New England Conservatory in 2007. Philippe Entremont discovered him at the Conservatoire Américain de Fontainebleau and became his mentor. In 2008, made his debut at the Salle Gaveau followed by a concert at the Maison de la Culture du Japon de Paris. Graduated from the Ecole Normale de Musique winning first prizes in both chamber music and solo piano. Has performed with the National Orchestra of Belgium and has been invited to the Santo Domingo Music Festival in 2011. In September, performed at a benefit concert for Japan with Entremont.
